Zynga a popular mobile social game company has claimed in a recent press conference that the company’s database has been hacked. According to newspaper reports and sources, the company has over billion user records stolen from nearly 45 popular online service records earlier this year. The hacker a Pakistani based out of Islamabad, the capital city of the country.

The most popular online games that have taken the world by surprise and craze are Games like FarmVille, Words with Friends, Zynga Poker, Mafia Wars, and Café World. The online social game developer Zynga has over $5 Billion dollars in revenue and is one of the most successful social game developers in the world. Going by the online alias Gnosticplayers, the serial hacker told The Hacker News that this time, he managed to breach “Words With Friends,” a popular Zyngadeveloped word puzzle game, and unauthorized access a massive database of more than 218 million users. According to the Pakistani hacker based out from Islamabad, the data breach affected game players who use Android and iOS. The game the hacker had hacked this time is Words with Friends. All the android and iOS users are affected by this major breach who has signed up before 2nd September this year.

Zynga in a press release confirmed the hacking breach and said that its user base of customers who had subscribed for playing games online has been compromised. The game spokesman of the company was referring was Draw Something and Words with Friends. The account login information has been leaked by a threat actor. The spokesman of the company said that the management of the company had been investigating the matter. All the necessary steps were taken to understand the loopholes the system had which made the hackers steal the information. The spokesman also said that all the necessary steps were taken so that future attacks could be prevented and the user’s data would be safe.
